Unfortunately we do not stock the no-name brands. The only 2 branded products supported with full service and Warranty in SA are Garrett and Minelab – the world leaders in Hobby and Gold Detectors.
Many people buy the “cheap and nastys” to find out what the hobby could be like. If you enjoy it it is almost certain that you will need to move to a branded product to get full enjoyment out of the hobby.
This is something I experienced myself – When I was 21 I bought a cheap unit and used it for 3 months at which time I was bitten by the bug, but the product just couldn’t perform and I upgraded to the Ace – Entry level detector from Garrett.
It is up to you weather you take the risk and try a unit like that but if you do like the hobby you will need to buy a proper unit and may well have spent that money in vain.
Once you get into the hobby you will begin realizing the value in these units and your perceptions of price and value will change dramatically.
