How to clean and store a Metal Detector.
Keeping your metal detecting equipment in working order is vital to prolonging the life of your detector.
After a hunt get a damp cloth and wipe down the coil and other areas of your metal detector (except the control housing).
The control housing where the electronics and LCD screen are located is usually not waterproof. use a dry rag to dust off this section.
Also remove all your control house covers to allow time for the unit to dry out properly. Especially in humid conditions or if your were caught in a rainstorm.
When you store your detector be sure to remove the batteries from the control housing. This will stop them from getting run down or worse, leaking into your control housing. Keep your detector in a cool dry place.
Treat your machine with care and it will treat you to lifelong fun.
